Bowland Pennine MRT passed on a request to rescue a lamb which had fallen 20m down an un-named abandoned dig southwest of Whitmore Pot near Whitewell, Bowland Forest. A small team attended and two cavers descended, locating the lamb down a narrow rift beyond a constriction. Having descended through Lower Long Churn into Alum Pot, a caver (m, 38) fell a distance of up to 5 or 6m from the bottom pitch, sustaining suspected injuries to ankle, femur, lower back and chest.
