INCIDENT 31/2020 – Jul. 8th. Wed 13.55hrs – Foxup, Littondale – Mountain Incident

CRO were called by our neighbours, Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA), to assist with an incident near Foxup. A 74 year old male had been injured when he was thrown off his quad bike on the slopes of Plover Hill. Alert only – Feb. 9th. Sun. 13.25hrs – Pateley Bridge – Alert No. 1 of 2020

Heavy rain, overnight, caused widespread flooding across northern England. With a serious situation seeming to develop in Nidderdale, Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association asked the other North Yorkshire teams what swift-water rescue resources they had available and put them on ‘stand-by’. Incident 10/2018 – Mar. 11th Sun. 04.25 Providence Pot, Kettlewell, North Yorkshire – Cave Rescue

Five cavers (f, 18 – m,25) were reported overdue in Providence Pot, at 21.29 on Saturday. The afternoon’s rain had melted snow, causing a rapid rise in stream levels. Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association attended and began a search of the Dow – Providence system, later asking CRO to ‘stand by’ and report availability of caving members. Incident 23/2017 – Apr. 22nd Sat. 21.13 – Swan Dike Pot, Pen-y-ghent Gill, North Yorkshire – Cave Rescue.

CRO were asked by our neighbours, Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association, to provide assistance on an incident in their area. Four cavers were reported overdue in Swan Dike Pot, above Pen-y-ghent Gill. Two of the party had made their way out of the cave and reported that one member of the party was stuck beyond a tight section of passage.
