CRO were called by our neighbours, Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA), to assist with an incident near Foxup. A 74 year old male had been injured when he was thrown off his quad bike on the slopes of Plover Hill. The injured person was cared for by Yorkshire Air Ambulance paramedics and transferred to hospital in their aircraft. Volunteer hours: 10
Heavy rain, overnight, caused widespread flooding across northern England. With a serious situation seeming to develop in Nidderdale, Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association asked the other North Yorkshire teams what swift-water rescue resources they had available and put them on ‘stand-by’. Five cavers (f, 18 – m,25) were reported overdue in Providence Pot, at 21.29 on Saturday. The afternoon’s rain had melted snow, causing a rapid rise in stream levels.
