A walker (m,72) slipped and fell on the limestone pavement and sustained a suspected fractured right ankle. The team responded and splinted the injured limb, and then put the casualty onto a stretcher for a carry to the team vehicle. A walker (f 69) slipped and fell on the limestone pavement at the top of Malham Cove. Visibility was very poor due to low cloud and the pavement was extremely slippery. Incident 46/2018 – Jul. 19th Thur 18.00 Malham Cove, Malham, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

The team were called out by North Yorkshire Police to assist with the recovery of a person with fatal injuries from the foot of the cove. Incident 36/2018 – Jun. 4th Mon 18.52 Malham Cove, Malham, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A walker was reported to have broken an ankle, about half-way up the steps to the top of Malham Cove. Two YAS ambulance technicians were on scene when CRO members arrived. The patient was given pain-relief and had his injured leg splinted, before being put into a vacuum mattress and onto a stretcher.
