The team were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to a walker (f,69) who had slipped whilst walking near Raven Scar, above Malham Cove. The first team member arrived at the same time as the YAS ambulance crew, who assessed the casualty before the team loaded her into a stretcher for the carry across the fell to the waiting ambulance. The team were called by North Yorkshire Police to a walker (f, 20) who had fallen and hurt her ankle whilst walking round Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. After an initial assessment by a team RRMT, the casualty was administered some pain relief and her ankle was splinted, before being carried back to the team vehicles in a stretcher. A walker (f, 72) slipped on the field path below Oxenber Wood, near Wood House, Austwick, sustaining a very painful ankle injury. After assessment, pain relief and splinting of her leg, she was lifted onto the back seats of CRO 4 (Honda Pioneer) and driven to Feizor to meet the YAS road ambulance. This took her to hospital for further treatment. Volunteer hours: 31
A walker (f, 24) slipped and injured an ankle not far from Janet’s Foss on the path towards Malham village. When she had been assessed by the YAS paramedic, team members helped her to the road ambulance which took her to Settle Railway Station for the first train home. An undeserved end to a day involving at least two trains and a bus-ride. Volunteer hours: 17
