The team were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to a walker (f,69) who had slipped whilst walking near Raven Scar, above Malham Cove. The first team member arrived at the same time as the YAS ambulance crew, who assessed the casualty before the team loaded her into a stretcher for the carry across the fell to the waiting ambulance. An expeditioner (f, 15) slipped on the seriously slippery limestone pavement at the top of Malham Cove, twisting a knee and dislocating the kneecap. After assessment and pain relief, a team paramedic reduced the dislocation, thus easing the pain, before the casualty was helped into an insulated bag and lifted onto a Bell stretcher. A local farmer contacted one of the Assistant Controllers to request assistance with one of his lambs that had fallen down a small pothole off Horton Scar Lane. After alerting the Duty Controller, the Assistant Controller went up with the farmer to assess the situation so that a rescue could be arranged.
