INCIDENT 38/2023 (same day) 13.17 WHITE SCAR CAVE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE. CAVE INCIDENT

A visitor (m, 60), with known medical conditions, was suspected of having a possible heart attack after climbing the steps into the Battlefield Chamber at the extremity of White Scar Cave. Team members, the two fire officers and a police officer attended and the patient was found to be conscious and breathing. A team doctor assessed him and agreed that he could be walked gently back to the cave entrance where he was handed over to YAS paramedics.

Footnote: There is a prominent cautionary sign at the show cave entrance, advising visitors with known cardiac conditions that part of the cave is strenuous.
