The team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to a report of a climber having fallen at Giggleswick Scar North, near Settle. The Duty Controller was contacted directly by a colleague from Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) who was at the Craven Pothole Club ‘winch meet’ at Gaping Gill. A walker (M, 60) had arrived at the site cold and wet, and had subsequently felt faint. The team were called upon by Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue Association (UWFRA) to potentially assist with an ongoing rescue they had in Goyden Pot. A number of members were placed on stand-by but were ultimately not deployed as UWFRA were able to resolve the incident successfully themselves. A good outcome for our neighbours and partners at UWFRA.
