INCIDENT 31/2022 MAY 8th SUN. 17.13 GIGGLESWICK SCAR, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

After climbing on Giggleswick Scar and during the descent from the crag on foot, a woman fell down a two metre drop and tumbled about another twenty metres on a steep scree slope. Having suffered multiple grazes and bruising, but no other apparent injuries, she was able to make her own way down to the road with a little assistance from CRO members. When an alert beacon was activated, the owner’s home contact called her local Police, who forwarded the alert to North Yorkshire Police. INCIDENT 58/2021 – AUGUST 3rd TUE. 14.44 – BOTTOM QUARRY, STORRS COMMON, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A climber (f, 32) fell from one of the routes on the lower quarry face at Storrs Common, sustaining lower leg injuries. A YAS crew was on scene and an air ambulance was en route when the CRO Duty Controller was called. Paramedics having treated and ‘packaged’ the casualty, team members transported her to the road ambulance on a CRO wheeled stretcher. INCIDENT 27/2021 – MAY 31ST MON. 14.31 – GIGGLESWICK SCAR (SOUTH), GIGGLESWICK, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A climber (m, 27) is believed to have been descending around the side of the main climbing area on Giggleswick Scar (South) when he sustained a head injury, caused by a falling rock.
