The team were asked by Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with a walker (F, 58) who had slipped on steep grass on the Pennine Bridleway between Settle and Langcliffe. She had sustained a painful ankle injury and was unable to walk. The Team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to assist a local farmer with a pregnant sheep stuck on a ledge, on a small crag on the west side of Warrendale Knotts above Settle. The sheep had apparently been there a few days and had not self rescued. Following a reccy of the site with the farmer it was agreed we would attend the following morning to help the animal.…
The Team were asked by North Yorkshire Police to assist with rescuing two women whose car had become stuck fast in a snow drift on the minor road across Scotsthrop Moor, above Settle. Fortunately, whilst we were mobilising, the YAS crew had been able to assist the injured party to their nearby vehicle and did not need further assistance from us. The team were stood down.
