A Three Peaks walker (f, 43) slipped on the path ascending Ingleborough, above Sunset Pot, sustaining an ankle injury. A small team went up in CRO 4 (the Honda Pioneer), followed by one of the Land Rovers. Other members waited at the road-head in Chapel-le-Dale, but were not needed. A farmer’s wife posted a request on Facebook to rescue a sheep from Cowskull Pot (near the Pennine Way, North of Horton). A sheep had appeared to be stranded on Mealbank Quarry for several days, but had been ignored in the belief that it would scramble off when it became hungry. YAS contacted the CRO duty controllers after receiving an S.O.S.alert from London Ambulance Service.This gave a mobile phone number and specified a location which translated as near Hunt Pot on the path to Pen y ghent, but no further useful information.
