A golden retriever was reported to have fallen down a 20′ pot-hole by the path between Bar Pot and Gaping Gill. Two members drove up in the Honda Pioneer, scrambled down the 3m rift and recovered the dog, unharmed. Other members who had been driving up to Trow Gill in a team Land Rover were stood down. A visitor (m, 77) with a known heart condition experienced chest pain on reaching the top of the stairs into the Battlefield Chamber, the most remote part of the show cave. Use of the medication he carried with him had no effect so the cave manager asked North Yorkshire Police to call CRO.
