A golden retriever was reported to have fallen down a 20′ pot-hole by the path between Bar Pot and Gaping Gill. A visitor (m, 77) with a known heart condition experienced chest pain on reaching the top of the stairs into the Battlefield Chamber, the most remote part of the show cave. Use of the medication he carried with him had no effect so the cave manager asked North Yorkshire Police to call CRO.
