YAS contacted the CRO duty controllers after receiving an S.O.S.alert from London Ambulance Service.This gave a mobile phone number and specified a location which translated as near Hunt Pot on the path to Pen y ghent, but no further useful information. A Three Peaks walker (f, 38) fell on the path to the summit of Whernside at the northern end of the ridge, sustaining a lower leg injury.
