INCIDENT 83/2023 SEP. 30th SAT. 17.17 CHAPEL-LE-DALE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A group of walkers (2f, 3m, 30s) set off up Ingleborough from near Chapel-le-Dale.  One member of the group turned back at Humphrey Bottom.  Having later received a message from the rest of the group saying that they were lost, she called 999.  As a small CRO team met with her to get further information, the other members of the group turned up safe and well. INCIDENT 78/2023 SEP. 10th 12.10 BARBONDALE GORGE, BARBON, CUMBRIA – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Cumbria Police asked CRO to assist a scrambler (f, 46) who had slipped in Barbondale Gorge, injuring her right lower leg.  Team members accessed the casualty who was at an awkward location in the gorge, assessed her, administered pain relief, and splinted her leg.  They then placed her on a Bell stretcher, hauled her out of the gorge, and transported her down to the road where she was handed over…

INCIDENT 71/2023 AUG 27 SUN. 10:36 CLAPHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE – LOCAL INCIDENT

North Yorkshire Police asked CRO to assist with a search in the Clapham area for a missing person.  Following an extensive search team members found the missing person, sadly deceased.  Our thoughts are with the person’s family and friends.   FATAL Volunteer hours: 287

INCIDENT 62/2023 JUL. 25th TUES. 17:13 DEEPDALE SIDE, DEEPDALE, DENT, CUMBRIA – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Cumbria Police requested CRO’s assistance for two young hillwalkers, in separate parties at different locations but part of the same large group, who were going in and out of consciousness.  Initial information was limited but placed both parties on the Deepdale side of Whernside.  Team members located the casualties, assessed them, and brought them down off the hill for further assessment by our colleagues at NWAS and YAS.  While this…
