A walker (m85) heading towards Austwick on the track from Feizor collapsed due to a suspected cardiac arrest. Despite the best efforts of the walker’s companion, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and CRO, all attempts to revive the walker were sadly unsuccessful. FATAL Volunteer hours: 20

INCIDENT 03/2023 JAN 22nd SUN. 14.05 DESCENT PATH FROM WHERNSIDE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT
A walker (f, 37) tripped and fell, head first, on the rocky first section of the path from the summit ridge of Whernside towards Bruntscar. YAS sent their rapid response vehicle and an air ambulance, then called CRO. They were joined, later, by a road ambulance. The air ambulance being first on scene, the pilot flew up towards the cloud base and deposited his paramedics about 100m from the casualty.…
