INCIDENT 73/2023 AUG. 31st THU. 13.37 MALHAM COVE, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT
A visitor (f, 69), with a known medical condition, climbed the steps at the side of Malham Cove, but collapsed on reaching the top. When team members arrived, she had recovered significantly. After assessment by YAS paramedics, the patient was carried by stretcher to an air ambulance which flew her down to Malham for transfer to a road ambulance and the journey to hospital for further assessment. A visitor (f, 62) was reported to be experiencing chest pains and difficulty in breathing on the outward (western) arm of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, between Pecca Bridge and Thornton Force.
