INCIDENT 27/2021 – MAY 31ST MON. 14.31 – GIGGLESWICK SCAR (SOUTH), GIGGLESWICK, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A climber (m, 27) is believed to have been descending around the side of the main climbing area on Giggleswick Scar (South) when he sustained a head injury, caused by a falling rock. INCIDENT 15/2021 – May 9th Sun. 14.21 – Pen y ghent, Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident

A walker (f, 61) was reported to have taken a fall, breaking an ankle on the path down from Pen y ghent towards Hull Pot, near its junction with the ‘old Three Peaks route’.  As team members responded, YAS advised that an air ambulance had collected the patient and was flying her down to meet the road ambulance on Horton Playing Field. INCIDENT 11/2021 – Apr. 15th Thu. 14.47 – Whernside, Ingleton, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident

A paraglider pilot (m, 54) launched from the summit ridge of Whernside, but immediately landed heavily, 200m down-slope, injuring his right ankle. As the first CRO members scaled the hill, the North West Air Ambulance landed on the ridge. Paramedics scrambled down and packaged the patient before team members, assisted by passers-by, carried patient and team stretcher up to the aircraft. INCIDENT 47/2020 – Aug.8th Sat. 19.04hrs – Snow Falls, Ingleton – Mountain Incident

A visitor (m, 12) was reported to be ‘fainted, unconscious’, just below Snow Falls on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. He was later reported to have regained consciousness and complained of abdominal pain. YAS paramedics and those, plus a doctor, from the North West Air Ambulance attended to the casualty, before team members carried him, by stretcher, to a waiting road ambulance.
