A sheep had appeared to be stranded on Mealbank Quarry for several days, but had been ignored in the belief that it would scramble off when it became hungry. INCIDENT 34/2021 – JUNE 18th FRI. 13.52 – WHERNSIDE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A Three Peaks walker (f, 38) fell on the path to the summit of Whernside at the northern end of the ridge, sustaining a lower leg injury. The leg would not bear weight, so a member of a neighbouring MRT provided a group shelter then called for help. A walker (f, 76) was reported to have collapsed while walking along the side of the Ribble, across from Hornby Laithe bunkhouse, Stainforth.
