The team were asked by Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with a walker (F, 58) who had slipped on steep grass on the Pennine Bridleway between Settle and Langcliffe. She had sustained a painful ankle injury and was unable to walk. The Team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to assist a local farmer with a pregnant sheep stuck on a ledge, on a small crag on the west side of Warrendale Knotts above Settle. The sheep had apparently been there a few days and had not self rescued. Following a reccy of the site with the farmer it was agreed we would attend the following morning to help the animal.…
The team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to two walkers who were ‘stuck’ on the summit of Ingleborough. Although uninjured, the two (F, 30 and M, 37) were reported to be very cold and on very steep, icy ground. Whilst the team mobilised, on what was a particulary horrible night weatherwise with gale force winds, freezing temperatures and driving rain, our controller made enquiries with colleagues at HM Coastguard…
