The team were contacted by North Yorkshire Police to a walker (M, 60) who was suffering a medical episode on Pen y Ghent, close to the summit. The team were alerted and mobilised. Meanwhile, the walker was contacted by our Duty Controller and it was found that he had recovered sufficiently to start making his own way down, assisted by a friend. A walker (m 29), training for an attempt of the 3 peaks walk, announced to his colleagues “I think my heart has stopped” and promptly collapsed. He was on the path above Brackenbottom Farm and his colleagues started CPR and kept this going until the arrival of Yorkshire Ambulance Service Paramedics, who were successful in restarting the casualties heart.
