INCIDENT 09/2021 – Apr. 4th Sun. 14.59 – Hillside behind Stackhouse, Giggleswick, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident

A sport cyclist (m, 18) landed badly from a home-made ‘jump’, complaining of rib, face, shoulder and back pain. Arriving at the accident site, the YAS paramedics asked for CRO’s assistance and equipment, in order to immobilise the casualty and recover him to the road ambulance. Warning — ‘Wretched Rabbit’, Easegill

CRO is not in the habit of issuing site-specific ‘health and safety’ warnings, however, Wretched Rabbit is  very popular, so cavers who have not seen the warning on www.ukcaving.com or discovered a notice at Bull Pot Farm, please be advised that the entrance to Wretched Rabbit is reported to be partially blocked by a boulder, with ‘two huge blocks that look ready to drop’.

INCIDENT 08/2021 – Apr. 3rd Sat. 16.52 – Fell Close, Chapel le Dale, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident

A walker (f, 23) sustained an ankle injury on rough and boggy terrain, so that she was unable to put weight on her injured leg. A companion rang the Police for help and CRO team members responded. After assessment by a team doctor, the patient was stretchered to the road-head and transferred to a friend’s car for the journey to hospital. Volunteer hours: 34

INCIDENT 07/2021 – Apr. 3rd Sat. 12.55 – B6479 road, South of Horton in Ribblesdale, North Yorkshire. – Local Incident

While driving towards Horton in Ribblesdale, two CRO members, in a team Land Rover, came across a road traffic collision which had occurred only moments earlier. Driving a vehicle marked as an ambulance they felt obliged to stop and offer assistance until the statutory emergency services arrived.
