INCIDENT 31/2024. MAY 17th FRI. 18.09 PEN-Y-GHENT, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE

North Yorkshire Police requested the team’s assistance with a power wheelchair user (m, 36) experiencing mechanical difficulties.  While the location was initially unclear, further information placed the individual on the track up Pen-y-ghent from Hull Pot.  Team members out training on CRO4, the team’s all terrain vehicle, located the individual and transported him with his wheelchair down to Horton in Ribblesdale.  Other team members then arranged the individual’s onward transportation…

INCIDENT 30/2024. MAY 13th MON. 19.28. KINGSDALE, THORNTON-IN-LONSDALE, INGLETON, N. YORKSHIRE

The team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to an incident involving a young child (M, 11) in Kingsdale. The child, part of an organised group activity, had crawled under a large rock and apparently become stuck fast. A small team was mobilised to assess the situation. A visitor (f, 43) slipped and sustained an ankle injury, below Beezley Falls, on the return leg of the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. Team members splinted the ankle then carried and wheeled the patient, by stretcher, to a YAS road ambulance at Falls Park caravan site. The other members of her family were driven back to their car, on the Trail car park, so they could follow the ambulance to hospital.…
