A heavily pregnant ewe was stranded on a ledge at the Western end of Warrendale Knotts, above Settle. The farmer left it, hoping it would self-rescue when it became hungry, but there seemed to be enough grazing to keep it going. After three days, he called CRO via North Yorkshire Police. North Yorkshire Police put the team on stand-by when they were advised of a vulnerable man in difficulty, and possibly at serious risk, near Malham. Fortunately they resolved the situation satisfactorily without CRO’s involvement. Volunteer hours: 2
