INCIDENT 83/2023 SEP. 30th SAT. 17.17 CHAPEL-LE-DALE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A group of walkers (2f, 3m, 30s) set off up Ingleborough from near Chapel-le-Dale.  One member of the group turned back at Humphrey Bottom.  Having later received a message from the rest of the group saying that they were lost, she called 999.  As a small CRO team met with her to get further information, the other members of the group turned up safe and well. INCIDENT 08/2022 – FEBRUARY 24th THU. 15.11 SCAR CLOSE, CHAPEL LE DALE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A walker (f, 41) fell on limestone pavement, trapping her foot so that she was unable to move and she soon became very cold. It was not possible to use PhoneFind or speak to her (Her phone may have worked via ’emergency roaming’.), but as CRO members arrived in the immediate area, Police officers had already found her. INCIDENT 21/2021 – MAY 27TH THU. 15.29 – TWISLETON SCARS, CHAPEL-LE-DALE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A climber (f, 23) fell about 10m from the Beezley Crack route (?) on Twisleton Scar, taking her runners with her. She hit her head in the fall, but her helmet saved her head from injury. Although shaken, initially, an ankle injury (unable to bear weight on it) and general bruising were the only injuries evident when team members reached her. INCIDENT 08/2021 – Apr. 3rd Sat. 16.52 – Fell Close, Chapel le Dale, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident

A walker (f, 23) sustained an ankle injury on rough and boggy terrain, so that she was unable to put weight on her injured leg. A companion rang the Police for help and CRO team members responded. After assessment by a team doctor, the patient was stretchered to the road-head and transferred to a friend’s car for the journey to hospital. Volunteer hours: 34
