INCIDENT 10/2020 – Feb. 25th. Tue. 14.38hrs – Off Whitestone Lane, Austwick – Mountain Incident

Yorkshire Ambulance Service asked for assistance when a walker (m, 52) took a fall at a stile just off Whitestone Lane, Crummackdale, sustaining an arm injury. As members were responding, a further message was received, stating that the ambulance crew was with the patient and the team was not required. Volunteer hours: 7.  

INCIDENT 86/2019 – Oct. 14th. Mon. 12.21hrs – Malham Cove, Malham, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A walker (m, 69) experienced a dizzy spell, fell and sustained a head injury at the top of the steps onto the top of Malham Cove. Air ambulance paramedics, arriving first, assessed the patient, then walked him to a road ambulance, waiting at the top of Cove Road. Team members stood by, with a stretcher, in case any assistance was required. Volunteer hours  17

Incident 13/2016 – Mar. 19th Sat. 13:11 – Malham Cove, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

The team were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with a climber (m,19) who had fallen 3 metres onto rocks, sustaining a fractured ankle. The casualty was accessed from the lower tier, where his injury was splinted, before placing him into a titan stretcher. The stretcher was then carried along the ledge and down the slope secured by a belay, before being placed in a CRO vehicle for transport…
