A walker slipped, fell over and injured her ankle whilst on the path between the top of Malham Cove and the Malham Rakes road. A CRO team member was able to unlock the field gate adjacent the road and drive a vehicle to the injured walkers location. Having descended through Lower Long Churn into Alum Pot, a caver (m, 38) fell a distance of up to 5 or 6m from the bottom pitch, sustaining suspected injuries to ankle, femur, lower back and chest. A walker (f, 54) slipped and heard a loud crack from her ankle while walking the return path of the Waterfalls Trail through the Baxengill Gorge, Ingleton. Her husband reported the suspected ankle fracture to North Yorkshire Police, who called CRO.
