A walker (m, 58) fell from one of the ‘Norber boulders’ (glacial erratics) and sustained a serious ankle injury. As team members arrived at the road-head, an air ambulance was circling overhead. Arriving at the casualty site with a team stretcher (etc) they used it to carry the already ‘packaged’ patient to the helicopter for the flight to hospital. The team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to an incident involving a young child (M, 11) in Kingsdale. The child, part of an organised group activity, had crawled under a large rock and apparently become stuck fast. A small team was mobilised to assess the situation.
