The team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to an incident involving a young child (M, 11) in Kingsdale. The child, part of an organised group activity, had crawled under a large rock and apparently become stuck fast. A small team was mobilised to assess the situation. A walker (f, 48) twisted an ankle very badly while descending the upper tier of rock at ‘the sharp end’ of Pen y ghent, so that she was unable to continue. A visitor (m, 22) was scrambling along a ledge on Langcliffe Scar, near Winskill Stones, when he slipped and fell about 2m. He landed on both feet but injured both lower legs. Team members worked with YAS paramedics to treat the injuries and provide some measure of pain relief, before stretchering him about 150m to the waiting road ambulance. Volunteer hours: 26
