A walker (m, 58) fell from one of the ‘Norber boulders’ (glacial erratics) and sustained a serious ankle injury. As team members arrived at the road-head, an air ambulance was circling overhead. Yorkshire Ambulance Service asked the team to assist with a walker (m, 19) who had collapsed and suffered facial injuries on the footpath near Janet’s Foss. Team members assisted the on scene paramedics to bring the casualty to a nearby field where he was transferred to the air ambulance crew and flown to hospital. Volunteer hours: 38

Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) asked the team to assist with a walker (m, 78) who had fallen and injured his lower back on the footpath near to the River Greta. Team members assisted the YAS crew to place him into a vacuum mattress full body splint then into a stretcher which was wheeled and carried across the fields to the nearby ambulance.
