A Border Collie dog fell 25 or 30m from the top of Giggleswick Quarry, landing on a ledge which is covered in loose rock. NYF&RS’s Settle firefighters attended, then members of CRO were called. Mike Meredith, 79, an enthusiastic caver and former Controller with the Cave Rescue Organisation was found dead at his house in Kuching, Sarawak, on the morning of Wednesday 11th January 2023.
