While incident number 80 was still in progress, North Yorkshire Police forwarded a report that two Three Peaks walkers had not returned to Horton in Ribblesdale, having last been heard from on the summit of Whernside at about 13.00. Neither walkers’ mobile phone were answered, nor was there any response to Phonefind messages. A Three Peaks walker (f, 41) collapsed near ‘the fingerpost’ at the corner leading on to ‘the miners’ track’ to the summit of Pen y ghent (Taking the clockwise route.).
