INCIDENT 68/2018 – Dec. 4th. Tue. 12.37hrs – Watlowes (‘Dry Valley’), Malham, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue
A walker (f, 60) slipped on wet limestone, twisting her knee, so that she couldn’t walk. Having immobilised her leg, CRO members helped her onto a stretcher and sledged/carried her to a team vehicle, then drove her down to Malham car park, to meet the road ambulance. After assessment by Yorkshire Ambulance Service paramedics, she was transferred to the family car for the journey to a hospital near her home.…

The team were contacted by North Yorkshire Police after a walker reported herself lost and requesting advice, having set out to walk Pen-y-ghent. Despite a poor signal, the police control staff were able to get a location for the caller before losing the call. INCIDENT 66/2018 – Dec. 1st Sat. 15.36 hrs – Near Quarry Pond, Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, Ingleton, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue
A call was received from North Yorkshire Police to reports of a man suffering shortness of breath and palpitations. Just after the team was mobilised, and as the first team member arrived at the location, the team was stood down, as it became clear our services were not required. Volunteer time: 2 hours 40 minutes.
