A walker on an evening excursion from Settle to Ribblehead became lost after descending from the summit of Pen-y-ghent. INCIDENT 60/2018 – Oct. 13th Sat. 10.06hrs – Pen-y-ghent, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A 3-peaks walker slipped on wet rocks just below the summit of Pen-y-ghent. His fall caused an injury to his ankle – a suspected fracture. The injured walker telephoned for help, but also started to make his way down the hill after his ankle was strapped up by a passerby. INCIDENT 59/2018 – Sep. 27th Thu. 11.04hrs – Gordale Beck, North of Mastiles Lane, Malham Moor, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

A diabetic student (m,17), on a field visit, collapsed, falling face-down in the beck. He was recovered by companions, then regained consciousness. Yorkshire Ambulance Service first requested CRO’s help in locating him, via PhoneFind, but this did not work (Perhaps the original call roamed to a different network?).
