Yorkshire Ambulance Service asked for assistance after a walker (f, 42) slipped on the path from Malham Rakes (a.k.a. ‘the Tarn road’) to the top of Malham Cove, sustaining a serious ankle fracture. INCIDENT 10/2020 – Feb. 25th. Tue. 14.38hrs – Off Whitestone Lane, Austwick – Mountain Incident

Yorkshire Ambulance Service asked for assistance when a walker (m, 52) took a fall at a stile just off Whitestone Lane, Crummackdale, sustaining an arm injury. As members were responding, a further message was received, stating that the ambulance crew was with the patient and the team was not required. Volunteer hours: 7.  

INCIDENT 8/2020 – Feb. 10th. Mon. 13.41hrs – Near Thistle Cave, Ribblehead, Ingleton – Mountain Incident

An adult (m, 55) accompanying a group of young people, collapsed at the entrance to Thistle Cave, which they had intended to explore. There were prolonged attempts to revive him by CPR, but when YAS paramedics arrived, by road and air ambulance, they determined that life was extinct. INCIDENT 5/2020 – Jan. 23rd. Thu. 10.50hrs – Sheriff Hill, Malham – Mountain Incident

A visitor (m, 57), walking from Malham Rakes towards the top of Malham Cove, slipped on the extremely muddy path, about 300m from the road, sustaining a dislocation fracture of one ankle. The YAS paramedics who attended to the patient asked for CRO’s assistance. Team members stretchered the man to the road and helped transfer him from the stretcher into the road ambulance.
