A group of Three Peaks walkers called North Yorkshire Police when one of the group (m, 33) went missing between Whernside summit and Philpin Lane after experiencing some difficulties.  A team vehicle checked Philpin Lane up to the Hill Inn but failed to locate the missing walker.  CRO team members, already on scene for Incident 47, were redeployed to search paths and ridges that the missing walker could have taken. …

INCIDENT 47/2023 JUNE 17th SAT. 13:19 DESCENT PATH FROM WHERNSIDE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE. MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A Three Peaks walker (f, 52) experienced severe pain in her left leg while descending the rocky path from Whernside summit, eventually becoming unable to continue.  Her party called North Yorkshire Police, who asked CRO to attend.  Team members ascended to the casualty’s location where a team doctor assessed her.  The casualty was then assisted into a stretcher and wheeled back down the fell to a team Land Rover, which…

INCIDENT 33/2023 MAY 20TH 20.21 WHERNSIDE, CHAPEL-LE-DALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE. MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

The party of a walker (F, 40yrs) contacted North Yorkshire Police to say she was having difficulty descending from Whernside to Bruntscar on the 3 Peaks Path due to very painful knees which were getting more painful as she progressed. INCIDENT 03/2023 JAN 22nd  SUN. 14.05 DESCENT PATH FROM WHERNSIDE, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE –  MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A walker (f, 37) tripped and fell, head first, on the rocky first section of the path from the summit ridge of Whernside towards Bruntscar. YAS sent their rapid response vehicle and an air ambulance, then called CRO. They were joined, later, by a road ambulance. The air ambulance being first on scene, the pilot flew up towards the cloud base and deposited his paramedics about 100m from the casualty.…
