INCIDENT 56/2021 – AUGUST 1st SUN. 20.48 – FELL CLOSE, INGLEBOROUGH, INGLETON, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Two walkers (f, f), one with an ankle injury so she could only hobble, reported themselves ‘lost, in a field with sheep’, although they could see the railway and both roads to Ribblehead. A small group of team members was able to drive almost to the walkers in a team Land Rover, assist them to it, then return them to their car in Horton in Ribblesdale. Volunteer hours: t.b.c.

A walker keyed 999, telling North Yorkshire Police that two other walkers were calling for help, that he was on the Swine Tail and that he was heading towards the pair to investigate. An 18 year old male taking part in a three peaks walk charity event was reported to have severe muscle cramps and heat exhaustion and was unable to walk further. CRO team members located the walker at Humphrey Bottom on the three peaks route up Ingleborough from Chapel-le-Dale. The poorly walker was in the company of an event marshal. INCIDENT 47/2021 – JULY 10th SAT. 22.05 – INGLEBOROUGH, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

North Yorkshire Police received a call from an obviously distressed Three Peaks walker (f, 32) who said she was lost on Ingleborough. The sound quality was very poor, then the call dropped out altogether.
