An expeditioner (f, 15) slipped on the seriously slippery limestone pavement at the top of Malham Cove, twisting a knee and dislocating the kneecap. After assessment and pain relief, a team paramedic reduced the dislocation, thus easing the pain, before the casualty was helped into an insulated bag and lifted onto a Bell stretcher. The team were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service to a walker (f, 38) who had slipped on the path whilst walking round the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, sustaining an injury to her ankle and lower leg. Upon arrival on scene the team found that the YAS Paramedics had already treated the casualty and just required our assistance with a short stretcher carry back to the waiting ambulance. Team members assisted our colleagues in Kendal Mountain Rescue Team with a Cumbria Police request for a search for a missing person near the boundary of our respective operational areas. Following a period of bankside and woodland searching, the team was stood down. Volunteer hours: 70
