INCIDENT 76/2024. SAT 5th OCTOBER 2045hrs. INGLEBOROUGH, RIBBLEHEAD, NORTH YORKSHIRE
A call was received from North Yorkshire Police that a party of 4 walkers (All M, 51,19,21 &22) on the 3 Peaks Walk had become disorientated and lost. They had descended from Ingleborough the wrong way in the dark, despite being experienced and reasonably well equipped. We were able to locate them quickly using our Phone Find tools. INCIDENT 75/2024. THURS 3rd OCTOBER 1812hrs. WHERNSIDE, CHAPEL LE DALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE
The Team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police (NYP) to a walker (F, 26) who was having difficulty descending from Whernside summit due to a painful knee injury. Contact with the walker indicated she was descending the path towards Bruntscar slowly, assisted by a companion. As it was cold and getting dark, team members attended and helped the walker safely make the descent. She was reunited with her party. …

A walker (m, 19) called the ambulance service saying that he and a companion (f) were lost and cold. The call went to NWAS, via a mast in Lancashire, and information was passed to YAS, who called CRO because their system showed the mispers to be on the summit ridge of Whernside.
