INCIDENT 11/2023 FEB. 24th FRI. 12.37 FEIZOR, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A walker (m85) heading towards Austwick on the track from Feizor collapsed due to a suspected cardiac arrest. Despite the best efforts of the walker’s companion, Yorkshire Ambulance Service, Yorkshire Air Ambulance and CRO, all attempts to revive the walker were sadly unsuccessful.                       FATAL Volunteer hours: 20

INCIDENT 10/2023 FEB. 21st TUE. 14.00 GIGGLESWICK QUARRY, GIGGLESWICK, NORTH YORKSHIRE – ANIMAL INCIDENT

A Border Collie dog fell 25 or 30m from the top of Giggleswick Quarry, landing on a ledge which is covered in loose rock. NYF&RS’s Settle firefighters attended, then members of CRO were called. INCIDENT 09/2023 FEB. 18th SAT. 20.32 SOUTH OF SULBER NICK PATH, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Three Three Peaks walkers (all m, 23) said they were lost in the dark, with one of their party struggling to walk, coming off Ingleborough. They said they thought they were about a mile from Horton. INCIDENT 08/2023 SAME DAY. 20.27 SOUTH OF SULBER NICK PATH, HORTON IN RIBBLESDALE, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Two Three Peaks walkers (f, 26; f, 22) told NYP that they were lost in the dark and low cloud, coming from Ingleborough down to Horton. The description suggested that, in the poor visibility, they had lost the path where it crosses an area of surface limestone between Sulber Nick proper and Beecroft Hall, then drifted to the South.
