A paraglider pilot (m, 54) launched from the summit ridge of Whernside, but immediately landed heavily, 200m down-slope, injuring his right ankle. A sport cyclist (m, 18) landed badly from a home-made ‘jump’, complaining of rib, face, shoulder and back pain. Arriving at the accident site, the YAS paramedics asked for CRO’s assistance and equipment, in order to immobilise the casualty and recover him to the road ambulance.
