Whilst deployed at the previous incident, the Team were alerted by North Yorkshire Police to an incident at Beezley Falls near Ingleton. A canyoner (F, 17) had slipped from rocks into a pool, injuring her shoulder. INCIDENT 52/2024. JULY 28TH SUN 17.09 HRS. JANET’S FOSS, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE
Yorkshire Ambulance Service asked the team to assist with a walker (m, 89) who had fallen and injured his shoulder on the footpath near Janet’s Foss. Team members attended ready for the expected stretcher carry, but some astute local knowledge allowed a team vehicle to drive right to the casualty’s location. INCIDENT 55/2023 JUL. 6th THU. 13.32 POT SCAR, FEIZOR, AUSTWICK, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT
YAS called CRO when a climber (m, 54) fell a short distance (<2m?) onto rocks at Pot Scar, Feizor. Paramedics assessed him and gave pain relief for a shoulder injury. Team members gave him further pain relief, lifting him onto a vacuum mattress to immobilise him, as a precaution. INCIDENT 50/2023 (same day) 13:00 PEART CRAGS, SETTLE, NORTH YORKSHIRE. MOUNTAIN INCIDENT
A walker (f, 59) fell while crossing a wall, injuring her right shoulder and back. Two team members attended and carried out an initial assessment before transferring care to Yorkshire Air Ambulance paramedics who arrived shortly thereafter. After assessment and treatment, the casualty was able to walk with assistance to a team vehicle. She was driven down to Settle for transfer to a road ambulance. Volunteer hours: 21
