North Yorkshire Police called for assistance in rescuing a sheep which had fallen into Hull Pot. A small team was dispatched. While one team member abseiled approximately 18m down to the sheep and persuaded it into a flight bag, four other team members set up a hauling system. Having descended through Lower Long Churn into Alum Pot, a caver (m, 38) fell a distance of up to 5 or 6m from the bottom pitch, sustaining suspected injuries to ankle, femur, lower back and chest.
