A walker (f, 37) tripped and fell, head first, on the rocky first section of the path from the summit ridge of Whernside towards Bruntscar. YAS sent their rapid response vehicle and an air ambulance, then called CRO. They were joined, later, by a road ambulance. Snowfall throughout the night of Friday 9th December was lying several centimetres deep by Saturday morning. That afternoon, a walker slipped and fell on compacted snow on the nature trail between Clapham village and Ingleborough Cave. A walker slipped, fell over and injured her ankle whilst on the path between the top of Malham Cove and the Malham Rakes road. A CRO team member was able to unlock the field gate adjacent the road and drive a vehicle to the injured walkers location. A small group of horses galloped past but very close to four walkers on the path from Malham to Pikedaw, beyond Butterlands Barn. One horse came so close that one of the walkers (f, 63) was ‘bowled over’ and sustained a wrist injury on landing.
