INCIDENT 69/2023 AUG 16th WEDS 12.35 GAPING GILL, INGLEBOROUGH, CLAPHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

Back to Gaping Gill for the Team again today! We received a call from members of the Craven Pothole Club at Gaping Gill that a walker (M, 24) had returned to the site (having left earlier to go for a walk up Ingleborough) complaining of pain in his leg which had become so painful he could not weight bear on it. A small team was despatched in the Team’s Honda Pioneer (CRO 4) to assess the casualty, whilst others were put on stand-by in vehicles near Ingleborough Cave in case a stretcher evacuation was needed. Following assessment and pain relief, the casualty was, fortunately, able to walk the short distance back to CRO 4 and he was then transported back to Clapham with his friend to his own vehicle. We wish him a quick recovery.

Our thanks, once again, to colleagues from UWFRA and Craven Pothole Club for their assistance.
