A climber (m, 30) slipped and fell near the top of a climb, sustaining a serious injury to his right lower leg. His belayer lowered him back to the ground and called for assistance. Team members attended, assessed the casualty, splinted his leg, and then strapped him onto a Bell stretcher (a heavy-duty stretcher with skids underneath). A climber (f, 20) on Giggleswick Scar North fell approximately 4m, injuring her left ankle. Team members attended and determined that the awkward climbers’ path back to the car park was unsuitable for a stretcher carry.
