The Team were called by the Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) to assist with a visitor (M, 25yrs) who had tripped and dislocated his knee on the top of Malham Cove. A couple were walking on the field path from Lambert Lane to Upper Settle, with their dogs, when a group of young cattle began running towards them. The walkers scrambled into a different field to avoid the beasts, but the man (53) fell and sustained a knee injury, so that he could not walk. A climber (m, 30) slipped and fell near the top of a climb, sustaining a serious injury to his right lower leg. His belayer lowered him back to the ground and called for assistance. Team members attended, assessed the casualty, splinted his leg, and then strapped him onto a Bell stretcher (a heavy-duty stretcher with skids underneath). The casualty was then lowered down the high-angle slope to the road below…
