The Team received a call from one of our members at the Red Rose CPC hostel, at Bull Pot Farm, that a party of 8 cavers (2m and 6f, 20-29) on the ‘Easegill Traverse’ caving trip between Lancaster Hole and Wretched Rabbit were overdue. Four cavers were reported overdue on a through trip from Lancaster Hole to Wretched Rabbit, beneath Casterton Fell, having set off at noon. Four members of the Red Rose C&PC, resident at Bull Pot Farm, went to Wretched Rabbit and began searching from that end of the visiting cavers’ anticipated route. ALERT only. OCTOBER 28th  SAT. 21.10 hrs.  LANCASTER HOLE to WRETCHED RABBIT, CASTERTON, CUMBRIA. ALERT No 12 OF 2023.

A party of five cavers was reported ‘overdue’ from a trip through the Easegill (‘Three Counties’) system from Lancaster Hole to Wretched Rabbit. The alert was very soon rescinded after a member of the party ran back to Bull Pot Farm to delay the call-out time to 23.00. Volunteer hours:    <1

INCIDENT 17/2023 APR. 1st SAT. 21.00  LANCASTER HOLE / COUNTY POT, CASTERTON, CUMBRIA, CAVE INCIDENT

Six cavers (4m, 2f; ‘early 20s’) were reported overdue on a trip from Lancaster Hole to County Pot. They had gone underground at 11.30, anticipating re-emergence by 19.30. As another party had seen them, well on their way, earlier in the day, the search was concentrated towards County Pot.
