NYF&RS asked for assistance in rescuing a large lamb which had fallen perhaps 9 or 10 metres from the top of Catrigg Foss and was stranded on a ledge between the upper and lower waterfalls. A walker (m) tripped on the riverside path near Horton Wastewater Treatment Works, sustaining a suspected hip injury. A passer-by called for an ambulance and his companions made him as comfortable as possible, while waiting.
