INCIDENT 16/2021 – May 14th Fri. 20.21 – Near Winskill Stones, Langcliffe, North Yorkshire. – Mountain Incident
A visitor (m, 22) was scrambling along a ledge on Langcliffe Scar, near Winskill Stones, when he slipped and fell about 2m. He landed on both feet but injured both lower legs. Team members worked with YAS paramedics to treat the injuries and provide some measure of pain relief, before stretchering him about 150m to the waiting road ambulance. Volunteer hours: 26

A walker (f, 61) was reported to have taken a fall, breaking an ankle on the path down from Pen y ghent towards Hull Pot, near its junction with the ‘old Three Peaks route’. As team members responded, YAS advised that an air ambulance had collected the patient and was flying her down to meet the road ambulance on Horton Playing Field. The team stood down. UWFRA forwarded an alert from North Yorkshire Police regarding two Three Peaks walkers who had become separated from a bigger group after losing the path on Ingleborough. Reportedly, they had made their 999 call from a mobile phone with 1% battery.
