INCIDENT 86/2021 – NOVEMBER 22nd MON. 18.56  above CRUMMACK, INGLEBOROUGH – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A walker, undertaking a solo round of the 3 -peaks walk, strayed from his intended path from the summit of Ingleborough and became benighted. CRO team leaders were able to contact the walker on his mobile phone; he gave a good description of his probable location, but added that he had left his torch in his car and could no longer see where he was going. The benighted walker was able to respond to a “phone-find” text message, enabling CRO team leaders to see his exact location on a computer based mapping system. CRO team members were able to drive a team landrover to the walkers location on the Pennine Bridleway above Crummack farm. The relieved 3-peaker was taken down to his car in Horton-in-Ribblesdale.
