A farmer called North Yorkshire Police, requesting CRO’s help, when a sheep became stranded on a limestone outcrop, about 8m from the ground at Feizor Nick. The farmers had tried to reach the sheep but its position was described as ‘perilous without professional help’. INCIDENT 87/2019 – Oct. 20th. Sun. 16.12hrs – Rock Scramble, Above Humphrey Bottom, Ingleborough, North Yorkshire – Mountain Rescue

Two Three Peaks walkers became crag-fast while ascending the rock scramble above Humphrey Bottom, on Ingleborough. One (f, 31), became very cold in strong winds and low cloud, so could neither continue nor retreat. Incident 1/2018 – Jan. 8th Mon. 13.10 Moughton Scar, Crummackdale, North Yorkshire – Animal Rescue

The team’s first call of 2018 occurred when we were contacted by a local farmer, concerned for a sheep that had become stuck about 40 foot up a crag. A small team attended and met with the farmer, and then proceeded to extricate the sheep. The sheep was returned to it’s flock on the fell unharmed. Volunteer hours: 15
