A visitor (f, 78) suffered a medical event near the foot of Malham Cove. An ambulance was called and YAS asked CRO to attend, also. Members in the first team vehicle reached the casualty site very soon after the paramedics began their assessment of the patient, who seemed to be improving. A visitor (m, 48), sustained an ankle injury such that he could not put weight on it, following a slip on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail near Beezley Falls. INCIDENT 73/2023 AUG. 31st THU. 13.37 MALHAM COVE, MALHAM, NORTH YORKSHIRE – MOUNTAIN INCIDENT

A visitor (f, 69), with a known medical condition, climbed the steps at the side of Malham Cove, but collapsed on reaching the top. When team members arrived, she had recovered significantly. After assessment by YAS paramedics, the patient was carried by stretcher to an air ambulance which flew her down to Malham for transfer to a road ambulance and the journey to hospital for further assessment.
